A solid majority of Cupertino voters chose Dolly Sandoval for City Council. With all the precincts reporting, Dolly received 3846 votes. Approximately 31% of Cupertino voters, or 7430, participated in the election.

Cupertino Courier Recommends Dolly

The October 31, 2001 Cupertino Courier endorsed Dolly Sandoval for City Council. Their editorial stated that Dolly "...would bring to the council a strong command of budgetary, educational, and transportation issues."

San Jose Mercury News Endorses Dolly Sandoval for City Council

On Tuesday, October 30, the San Jose Mercury News made its recommendations for Cupertino City Council. Their editorial highlighted Dolly's experience on the Foothill-DeAnza College Board.

Public Safety Pros for Dolly

The public safety professionals serving Cupertino have joined together to support Dolly Sandoval for City Council. The Santa Clara County Firefighters and the Santa Clara County Deputy Sheriff's Association both gave Dolly their strong endorsement. "Dolly's background and 10 years of elected experience proves she has the know-how to help protect our streets and give public safety professionals the tools we need," said Art Marshall, President of the County Firefighters and Jose Salcido, President of the Deputy Sheriff's Assocation.

Sierra Club Endorses Dolly

As reported in the October 2001 Loma Prietan, the local chapter of the Sierra Club endorsed Dolly Sandoval for City Council. They described Dolly as "...a leader in pushing for jobs/housing balance and will be excellent on the council." The Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club is the latest in an impressive list of organizations who support Dolly for Cupertino City Council. Other organizational endorsements include the League of Conservation Voters, the Stevens Canyon Residents Association, the Silicon Valley Asian/Pacific Islander Democratic Club, and the Santa Clara County Firefighters.

County Supervisor Endorses Dolly

As reported in the August 16 San Jose Metro and the August 11 Palo Alto Daily News, 5th District Santa Clara County Supervisor Liz Kniss became the latest local leader to endorse Dolly Sandoval for Cupertino City Council. "I know she'll be a tireless advocate for more affordable housing, wise land-use policies and better neighborhood services," said Supervisor Kniss.
